Boost Mobile Challenge to take place in Gold Coast

By Hemaja Burud

The resurrection of a beloved event for the crowd will take place during the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.

The Boost Mobile Challenge will take place this weekend on the streets of Surfers Paradise.

On both the Saturday and Sunday of the event, a stunt-based challenge will be presented.

It harkens back to the VB Challenge, in which race cars and utes competed.

Two different vehicles will compete in the Boost Mobile Challenge.

Both vehicles—one a modified Stadium Super Truck and the other a modified Holden Commodore—have the support of Boost Mobile and Cali Beach.

Special Boost Mobile ambassador guests will ride in the passenger seat of both vehicles.

Similar to a gymkhana, the challenge's objective is to complete it in the shortest amount of time.

Drivers must use various driving strategies to get through a track while avoiding a variety of obstacles.

Drivers will navigate the course by doing manoeuvres like 180-degree and 360-degree spins.

On Saturday at 12:00 p.m. local time, and on Sunday at 10:30 a.m., will be the first challenge.

On Friday, two 30-minute practise sessions including supercars will take place on the course.
