Katie Ledecky smashes second world record in week

Katie Ledecky, a swimming sensation, broke 2 of women's records in just one week.

At the FINA World Cup in Indianapolis, Ledecky broke Mireia Belmonte of Spain's previous 800m record by nearly two seconds

Ledecky, 25, surpassed Belmonte's previous record of 7:59.34 from 2013 by swimming in a time of 7:57.42

The big picture: Ledecky has won four world championships and three Olympic gold medals in the 800 metres

'After last week, I truly pushed myself,' Ledecky apparently told FINA. It's great to have so many fans here to encourage us

"Honestly most of that emotion was just because it hurt a lot so when something hurts that much you want to see a great result like that," Ledecky said
